RASA’s Wendy Alberts triumphs as Africa’s Most Influential Women in Business and Government 2017

The Africa’s Most Influential Women in Business and Government publication has grown significantly from its sole focus on celebrating prominent women in South Africa, to include women across the continent. The programme was established to provide industries with a podium to celebrate gender equality accomplishments and honour women who making great strides in their respective organisations.

The magazine’s launch is celebrated at an annual awards ceremony and networking event, which provides an illuminated platform to honour the winners. This year, this coveted event took place on the 7th  August 2017 at the Premier Hotel at OR Tambo International Airport, South Africa.  

Wendy Alberts, Chief Executive Officer of the Restaurants Association of South Africa (RASA), won the CEO Global Country and Regional Award as well as Africa’s Most Influential Woman in Government & Business Award.  RASA is a leading organisation in the food and beverage sector that aims to uplift and self-regulate the restaurant industry in South Africa. Since its formation 4 years ago, under Alberts’s leadership, it has grown to be a powerful association that partners with top blue chip companies, suppliers, industry associations and players including various high level employees in government departments.

Alberts provides a dynamic, professional and valuable service to the industry. She is unquestionably passionate and dedicated to her role as CEO. Her strong, ethical and authentic approach has benefitted not only RASA, moreover the many restaurants, suppliers, industry enterprises, staff and clients that she promotes, develops and persistently supports. She continues being instrumental in bringing progressive change, growth and constructive development in the restaurant industry.

The awards appreciate distinction in the marketplace as a credible identifier of women, who are prepared to utilise their influence for the benefit of Africa’s economy in business and government.
