The site will help us to ensure that the official list of quality graded accommodation can be viewed worldwide, thus providing the establishments listed with unparalleled and measurable access to markets, both domestic and international. It further allows you to click on our grading criteria to see the standard of quality you should expect from graded establishments.
The launch of this website is a culmination of various initiatives undertaken by the TGSCA to ensure we deliver on our value proposition of implementing a credible and reliable globally benchmarked grading system for accommodation and conferencing establishments. One of the main highlights in recent months was undoubtedly the road-shows we conducted across South Africa on the new grading criteria and minimum requirements. It was a pleasure and privilege to meet so many enthusiastic and passionate property owners from all over our magnificent country, and to engage about the exciting changes which we’ve implemented at the TGCSA.
The new Grading Criteria with which our very capable and well-qualified team of Accredited Grading Assessors are now using, result in very accurately met grading levels so that your expectations can almost always be met from One Star, all the way to Five Star accommodation.
The TGCSA has also embarked on a marketing and advertising campaign to explain the new grading criteria to both visitors and the tourism trade. You’ll see some of the advertisements online as well as in various publications. Our strategy is to entice visitors to ‘’demand Star treatment’’, and to also encourage establishment to ‘’Be the Star’’ thereby enhancing the credibility of the Star Grading System in the eyes of the consumer – YOU, thus making it invaluable when making a choice of the establishment to stay in. Your feedback is pivotal to our strategy of maintaining the world-class status of our quality grading system and I look forward to all your comments, negative and positive!
