A Caravan and Camping Park is a facility that provides ablution and toilet facilities and space for guests to provide for their own accommodation, such as a tent, motor-home and/or caravan.

Category Entry Requirements

All Stars

• Adequate safety and security for guests.
• Cleanliness must be maintained throughout the caravan and camping park.
• All premises are expected to comply with all relevant statutory and local government regulations.
• There must be unbiased accessibility and courtesy towards guests.
• There must be adequate reservation, pricing and marketing information available to guests.
• Where possible, guests should have access to telephones.
• All buildings, grounds and roads of the site must be well maintained.
• Caravan and camping sites must be provided for guests, with necessary facilities such as taps and refuse disposal available.
• Adequate ablution facilities, lockable from the inside, should be readily available to guests, and cleaned daily.
• Ablution facilities should be well lit, well ventilated and have appropriate fixtures and fittings.
• There should be general recreational facilities.

Additional for 4 & 5 Star

• All communal bathrooms must be equipped with hand soap and hand drying facilities at washbasins.
• There should be baths AND showers available for guest use.
• There must be a stool and/or bench in each shower/bath cubicle.
• Adequate communal or individual braai facilities should be provided for guest use, as well as a scullery and laundry facility.
• Each site must have accessible electricity and drainage.
• A visual layout of the facility and site should be provided.
